Can Dripline Be Connected to a Normal Garden Tap?
Yes — Afriq Drip dripline can be connected directly to a standard garden tap under the right conditions. This makes it an easy and affordable option for home gardens, small plots, and raised beds without needing a full irrigation setup.
What Type of Dripline Can Be Connected?
Only thicker-walled dripline options are suitable for direct tap connection. At Afriq Water, our 0.90 mm and 1.00 mm wall thickness dripline is sturdy enough to push directly over a garden tap nipple and form a secure fit.
These heavy-duty options are designed to handle household water pressure while maintaining their shape and integrity. Thinner dripline (such as 0.15–0.60 mm) is not recommended, as it may soften, slip, or split under pressure.
Quick Connection Guide
- Ensure your tap has a male garden nipple fitting.
- Push the dripline firmly onto the nipple until snug.
- Optional: Use a small clamp or cable tie to secure the connection if your tap pressure fluctuates.
- Run a short test to confirm consistent drips from all emitters.
For more permanent or large-scale installations, Afriq Water recommends using proper LDPE connectors and filter units to protect your dripline system over time.
